WhatsApp buyers answered in about 90 seconds, day or night

The business

Euro is my family's wholesale business in Jakarta, selling kids' clothing and sandals to resellers, mostly over WhatsApp.

The problem

Ads brought in more chats than the staff could answer. Most were people asking for the catalogue or the price, and the buyers ready to order waited in the same queue. Chats that came in after the shop closed waited until morning.

What we built

An agent that answers new WhatsApp chats on Euro's lines. It sends the catalogue and the photos people ask for, never guesses a price, and passes anyone ready to buy to a staff member with a short summary of the chat. Suppliers and people who are not buyers get no catalogue.

The result
12,011conversations since launch; the agent replied in 8,868 of them
91 smedian first reply; 136 s for 9 in 10 chats, including a 45-second pause on purpose so a buyer can finish typing
2,818buyers handed to staff, sorted from the rest
1 in 5replies sent when no staff were on
~1 centper reply in AI running costs; about 17 cents per buyer handed over
July 8 to October 9, 2026.
